Both the RM 004 and RM 008 are split-seconds wristwatches with nearly identical mechanical construction. The RM 008 is powered by a tourbillon escapement, which is the only significant technical distinction between them. While the development of the RM 003 required almost a complete reworking of its structural design and assembly techniques, the development of the RM 004 with its deep-set movement bridges provided a significant and frightening task that took years of study and development.
